Our Story

The Autism Adventure education hub was set up by Paul, a former university lecturer in Earth sciences and father of an autistic boy, William.

From his early years, William has faced many challenges, including serious epilepsy and difficulties attending nursery and school. In 2022 Paul left his career to provide more support for William. At this time Paul began developing The Autism Adventure, initially as a space for sharing personal experience through TikTok videos, and later expanding to other platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, aiming to providing guidance to others in relatable situations.

Since 2023, The Autism Adventure has primarily focused on providing educational support, including specialist tutoring, to neurodivergent students. However, our roots in supporting others through sharing and connecting are still strong, as can be seen from our social media presence (see our Linktree).

On this page you can learn more about our family's challenging journey. Ultimately this is a story of hope, shaped by William's determination to live life on his own terms, despite difficulties faced.

YouTube Videos

The video below tells the story of William's buggy marathon, completed in June '24, which raised close to £3000 to support the education of neurodivergent students:

The following video (produced in April '23) shares my son William's story. Over his short life William has faced challenges of autism, epilepsy and the consequences of his behaviour, but he is determined to face life with boldness, positivity and joy:

The video below tells of William's harrowing brain surgery, which he came through stronger than ever:
